SpinBase MAX 2 Premium Powered Turntable Speaker

I've had the SpinBase Max 2 for a month and a half now and am loving it. It combined with the SpindDeck 2 make for a great pairing and fairly compact system. It's nice having speakers that are centralized and fill out a room well. The interface is simple and easy to use. It accommodates many options but is not overly complex. Bluetooth is great when I'm missing an album on vinyl. I picked up the black combo and they look fantastic together.

I can say I have found that playing vinyl calms the mood after and long day. For me it was well worth the investment and look forward to many laidback evenings ahead.

Andover makes some very nice product. If you are in the market give them ago. You will be happy you did.

Big sound from a small package.

I first read about the Andover1 turntable system on my fave artist’s archive site. That he owns 4 (one for his bus!) @ $2.5k+ ea. I shook my head. Then, after reading Bob Hazelwood’s article on the same site weeks later, I took a second look, a deeper dive. Could I pull thi$ off? Yes!, thanks to the SpinBase Max2. Just add your own turntable! I’m pretty happy with my AudioTechnica LP120 & Ortofon 2M Blue rig but it never Really Popped for me. It does now! I’m loving what I didn’t know I was missing! “Thanks Bob, fer having Neil fest!” :) And I haven’t even moved into the bluetooth or home theater setup yet. Did I mention my wife Loves the sleek & modern look! A definite plus.
Now for some very minor constructive criticism: Another user mentioned & I second the fact that there is no reminder that the unit is still powered on. An auto power off &/or a reminder indicator would be nice.
The other is a simple ask for future builds: An A/C pass thru outlet on the rear of the base to power your turntable would go a long way towards hiding A/C wiring. Just a thought. By no means a deal breaker. I’m not a huge bass guy but that might change…w/another modular add-on. So wonderful that you can slow roll an audio build out. Andover Audio Rocks!

I made this purchase to feed my addiction to vinyl. The SpinBaseMax2 has given me so much more. More than an after thought of a tv soundbar. This is a multi functional, optically connected, audio component to replace your tv speakers. Who needs surround sound?
And now for some objective constructive criticism:
Volume. 30 is not loud enough for Aux input. I have a stand alone 100 W amp that is louder. I like louder for some music. And I feel as though this unit should/could be louder.
Aux inputs. If you’re going to blow your horn on an audio archival site, especially a site backed by a provocateur of high res, please come equipped to dance. Pono players have dual DAC’s. Meaning they can output to L/R dedicated channels. Separate channels, Please.
I Don’t stream. But I appreciate the option. And I really appreciate the Bluetooth connectivity. Seamless. But, if something must be lost in a hi res gain…

Another ask for a future build - a front access headphone jack please. I understand previous model had a headphone icon on the aux out port, not sure why that’s missing? But I digress. I can leave a “pigtail” attached for easy access. But most audio devices provide a front port for easy access. Just say’n.
Update: 1/28/26 I found the headphone jack, quite by accident! If you are facing unit it is on right-side towards the rear of unit. Quite discreet and stealth. So much so That It Seems To Be Hidden In The Manual (both the paper manual & online). SEEMS LIKE AN EASY FIX? @ Least online…

I’ve been collecting record since 2018 and I (most like everyone else) started with suitcase record player. I was never happy with the sound so I upgraded to audio technica lp60xbt and logitech computer speakers. I still wasn’t happy with the sound plus my record player stopped spinning. So I upgraded to audio technica lp3xbt and edifier bookshelf speakers. I thought the edifier speakers sounded better than my old computer speakers but still not “there” yet. I was on tiktok one day and saw a lot of people raving about the Spinbase 2. So I did some research and found the Spinbase max 2. It fit all of my needs and so I wanted to try it out! BEST. DECISION. I’VE. EVER. MADE!! This speaker not only sounds absolutely incredible, it doesn’t take up any space because it sits underneath my record player! I listen to a lot of different genres, my favorite being metal/metalcore and I love how you can change the treble and base from the speaker itself or the remote it comes with! When I tell you that this speaker sounds SOOOOO GOOD I’m not lying! It’s literally amazing! Definitely worth the price too! Thank you to the creators and anyone who made this speaker the best sounding speaker I’ve ever heard in my entire life. I’m not kidding… I might be overdramatic but I’m not joking about the sounds that come out of this thing! As Lady Gaga once said “talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique…” PERIODT!!

We love our new Spinbase max2. The sound is deep, true and with its 270 degrees of sound it gives you a 3D sound effect. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a system that sounds great without a huge footprint.

It’s solid. I really wish it had a graphic equalizer. For modern records, e.g. records made recently that were made for wax, it sounds fine. For records with a louder baseline sound (Raekwon “only built 4 Cuban links,” it distorts a bit.

The MAX 2has really remarkable sound.After a few days, I decided told the Subwoofer. It arrived DOA but all got sorted in the next two weeks. It was quite astonishing how the SpinSub filled out the sound. A essential purchase.

Sounds AMAZING and was easy to set up!

It is a nice speaker and an upgrade over prior 1 model. It shut down one time (was not in use) however and I had to unplug it a few times to get it to power back on. It only happened once, so hopefully it was a one time occurence.

This speaker delivers exactly what I wanted. Excellent sound, simple controls, and small footprint. One of the best purchases I've made.

I was using a Sonos Five to play records, but between the bulk and clunky software experience, listening to records was a chore. I switched it out for a SpinBase MAX 2 and not only did it free up a whole shelf for records, but it also simplified the process of listening to them. I haven't really used it for anything else all that much, but the sound quality is superb.

The sound was so much better than I thought it would be clear and crisp have recommended to other friends

am really enjoying this speaker system. it is just the right size to fit in my master bedroom. the sound is great from it and volume is great. i like loud music and this system really plays loud and fills my whole upstairsrooms. it is well designed and is solid and well made. one button control is wonderful

Absolutely love it. Wanted a better than average sound for a large room but a small footprint for equipment. With the turntable on top this is perfect. Tried calling to talk with someone but never contacted. Don’t like doing that sort of thing via email. Recommend you work on that.

Its almost bizarre how the sound fills a space. I put the unit in a large room that is open to other large spaces and the sound seems to fill the spaces like water. The sound gets more dynamic as it travels away from the Spinbase Max and thefrequencies have a chance to spread and propagate. Now I want the subwoofer. Is it needed? No. Would it be even better? Yep!

Love the sound and the flexibility of this speaker for my condo apartment! My turntable, cd player, and iPhone all sound great! Love this speaker.

The sound quality is better than I expected as there is no static from records that I clearly remember having Static. So it’s a sound upgrade.

Not that hard to set up and the sound is quite good for the size of the unit. Turntable sounds clean and functions well. Somewhat disgruntled that the price dropped over $100 four days after I ordered but Oh Well.

I feel the Spinbase has been overrated in terms of sound quality. I was disappointed enough to order a phono preamp to see if I can improve the sound.

Product is exactly what I wanted. Paired with a subwoofer, this little unit sounds really good in my small (11x17) room.
