Spinplay

I had been going back and forth literally for a year or since it's debut I finally pulled the trigger when it went on sale for prime week.
I have 0 regrets, is it my end of the line, absolutely not yet I have 0 regrets. I have longing for true separation and highER fidelity but this is perfect for my current situation.
The low end is surprisingly strong and the separation is doubly delightful.
YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED even if a good review might raise your hopes, it won't lessen them
Thanks Andover for the simplistic and quality product.

Love my Spinplay

Love my Spinplay. Records sound amazing on it and even though true stereo sound isn’t possible, you can still hear the effect happening on it. I listened to Diesel Power by The Prodigy on it and holy cow it was powerful. The Spinplay is very easy to use and upgrade if you wish. I’m not an expert so I’m good with how it sounds out of the box. It is literally plug and play since Andover adjusts the settings like skate and arm balance before it ships.

Hi Bobby, we're thrilled to hear you're enjoying your SpinPlay record player! It's great to know the sound quality and ease of use meet your expectations. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Rediscovering the joy of music on Vinyl !

The SpinPlay has been everything I hoped for. Easy to use, Terrific sound and very portable! I’ve rediscovered the joy of my vinyl. There’s something about removing the album from the sleeve looking at the album cover and placing the disc on the turntable that turns listening to music into a special treat, not just a tap on your phone.
The SpinPlay is also a great Bluetooth speaker so it’s not a one trick pony!
Kudos to Andover Audio, a job well done!

Hi there! We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying your SpinPlay Record Player and rediscovering the magic of vinyl. Thanks so much for your kind words and support. Happy listening!

Big Sound - Small Package

After my beloved 1950's Motorola record player went on the fritz last year, I wanted to find a modern, all-in-one solution that would sound better than a Crosley. After doing some research online I discovered Andover Audio. I had originally thought about getting their SpinBase model paired with a turntable, but then noticed that they had a new, stand-alone record player coming out called the SpinPlay. It was in my budget, so I waited a couple of months and ordered one as soon as it was released. Like another reviewer, I too was having some issues with the auto-stop engaging before it should. However, this was a small glitch that Andover Audio has since worked out and they quickly exchanged the unit with a new one at no cost to me. Now that's great customer service!

How does it sound? Pretty dang wonderful. Whether I'm playing old, original surf LPs, newly-pressed Morricone soundtracks, Blues and Jazz reissues, 80's-90's Post Punk records, remastered Tom Waits albums, or something more current like Hermanos Gutiérrez, the sound from the SpinPlay is warm, rich, analog goodness. I rarely have the volume past 11 or 12 with the bass boosted to 6 and it more than fills our living room without the need for a sub woofer. I like that the SpinPlay has AUX inputs if I'd like to connect a CD player or a Tape Deck and the Bluetooth feature is great if I want to stream something obscure off of Bandcamp via my computer or phone. The remote control is handy, but I like that you don't need it to adjust the volume. I chose the black/dark grey model which blends in perfectly with our retro decor. My wife and I are really happy to be listening to vinyl again on our new SpinPlay!

We are so happy the SpinPlay Record Player sounds wonderful and fills your living room with great sound! Happy listening to you and your wife!

Sorry to see it go.

I bought the SpinPlay specifically because of its ease of use and auto shutoff feature. The intended user is my stepfather, who has Alzheimer’s, so minimizing cognitive load, ensuring predictability, and avoiding the need for manual intervention were the primary reasons I chose this model.

In many respects, the SpinPlay was excellent. Setup was straightforward, daily operation was intuitive, and sound quality exceeded expectations. It’s a thoughtfully designed, great-sounding turntable, and one of the most accessible I’ve encountered for non-technical users and seniors.

However, during use I discovered an issue with the auto shutoff behavior that ultimately makes it unsuitable for this application.

When playing 45 RPM records, the auto cutoff consistently engaged approximately 20–30 seconds before the end of the side, abruptly stopping playback while the music was still playing. This was not limited to run-out grooves and resulted in songs ending mid-track.

Because the auto shutoff was the primary reason for purchasing the SpinPlay, this behavior is significant. For a listener with cognitive impairment, an unexpected mid-song stop can be confusing and disruptive, even though the intent of protecting the stylus and preventing endless run-out is clearly well-meaning.

For this reason, I’ve decided to return the unit. This decision isn’t a reflection of sound quality or overall product design, both of which were very good. If future revisions allow for adjusted or more adaptive auto shutoff behavior—particularly for 45 RPM records—I would absolutely consider SpinPlay again for this use case.

I’m sharing this feedback in the hope that it’s useful as you continue refining the product. The focus on accessibility is clear, and with a small adjustment, SpinPlay could be an outstanding solution for caregivers and older users.

Thank you for your time and for listening to customer feedback.

I'm so sorry, Matthew! I'm glad you enjoyed it but disappointed it didn't work out for long term. Did you discuss an exchange or repair with our support team?

The new SpinPlay, just add power!

“You can’t put a record player on a speaker!” Well Andover doubled down on the Isogroove technology and put a record player IN the speaker and made it transportable. Enter the Spinplay. An all-in-one record player and speaker that only needs one thing to get spinning, power.

If you’re familiar with Andover, the Spinplay design is in line with their DNA with a simple single clickable knob controlling all functions (with a remote for extra convenience). The record player is fully setup and ready to play featuring an AT cartridge. The chassis is very hefty with a noticeable heavy dust cover, a first for me and most likely there to further isolate the sound from the stylus.

So how does it sound? Exactly as it should, excellent. The amp and speakers are balanced perfectly allowing for sub college frat party volume levels with no distortion. It’s got Bluetooth to pair your phone and has both optical and analog for anything else you like to play through it.

Above all, the Spinplay is for people who demand quality in build and sound. It is perfect for people new to vinyl, a secondary system in the house, rental property, or any other listening area where the space or inconvenience of a full rack is just not feasible. Lastly, if you need a little extra punch to relive the college days, it’s got a subwoofer output for that!

An excellent piece of home audio equipment

This is my first record player and my first piece of all-in-one audio hardware. Compared to my receiver and my various other blue tooth speakers, the spinplay is a pleasure to use. It just works how I want it to, when I want it to, whether I’m using it in Bluetooth mode or for playing records. The sound quality has been consistently great. Combine that with the ease of moving it, lock the arm in place, unplug on cable, and I really can’t find any fault with it.

An attractive, highly functional, great sounding system that I would recommend for anyone shopping in this price range!

Hi Stephen, thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that the SpinPlay Record Player has met your expectations and that you're enjoying its ease of use and sound quality. We truly appreciate your recommendation and support. Enjoy your music!

Don't hesitate. Buy it.

This replaced my budget all-in-one record player and there's just no comparison. I have been eyeing the SpinBase 2 and SpinBase MAX 2 for quite a while as an option to make my existing player sound better. I found out by accident that Andover released an all-in-one solution that wasn't TOO expensive. Even at this price I was skeptical. Would I have regrets? Could this actually sound better than the all-in-one I already had? I cannot properly communicate just how happy I am with this product. The sound this thing puts out absolutely DESTROYS my previous unit. I live in a two-bedroom apartment and the second bedroom is setup as a home office and music-listening room. The default volume level was too loud for my small space - especially at around 9PM, when UPS delivered it. I put the volume down to the "5" setting and it properly fills my office with bass-y, satisfying sound. The first thing I tried on it was The Highlights by The Weeknd. Sounds amazing. The build quality is also exceptional and the lid not being transparent makes it look more premium. My place is completely decorated in a mid-century modern aesthetic and this unit looks nice in it. I do wish it had a more retro walnut look, but the modern styling is great. My only complaint is that the remote is a little on the cheap side and the buttons make a loud click sound when pressed. I live in California and it shipped from Nevada. SUPER FAST SHIPPING. Anyway, if you're considering a buy, just do it. I am obsessed. Thanks, Andover Audio! Keep up the great work!

Hi Michael, thank you so much for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear you're loving the SpinPlay Record Player and that it’s making such a positive impact in your space. Incredible Sound Quality and Mom Loves It!

We bought the SpinPlay for my mother for Christmas, and she absolutely loved it! The sound quality is incredible and far superior to the record player she had been using. We also really appreciated how easy it was to set up—just plug it in and start playing right out of the box. It truly makes a perfect gift for moms or anyone who enjoys music.

Record Player sounds good with an upgraded stylus

It was difficult getting info that it was delivered but it did arrive in good shape. It sounds excellent. Instructions on removing the stylus were poor and the stylus included with the unit made funky sounds but I had ordered another better stylus which works fine.

We are glad you think the SpinPlay record player sounds excellent. Pro move upgrading the stylus! Feel free to message us at support@andoveraudio.com if you ever have any questions.
