Spin Notes #6 - The Allman Brothers Band - Eat a Peach

One of our favorite albums is "Eat a Peach" by the Allman Brothers Band:

The Allman brothers are one of the most famous bands from the Southern Rock genre, which developed in the late 60s to early 70's. Featuring one of the great duos in rock history – Greg Allman and Duane Allman – the Allman Brothers catalog is packed with incredible songwriting, vocals, organ, and guitar skills.

In fact some of this playing was featured on others artist's tracks as well. Did you know that the famous Coda (outro) on Layla by Derek and the Dominoes features the unique slide guitar stylings of Duane Allman?

Double Album!

Nothing like a double album to give you more bang for your buck and plenty more music from your favorite Artist. This release is a mix of Live and Studio recordings. The album contains the extended half-hour-long "Mountain Jam".

Other highlights include vocalist Gregg Allman's performance of his brother's favorite song, "Melissa", plus Dickey Betts' "Blue Sky", which went on to become a classic rock staple. If you get a chance, check out this album!
