Temple of the Dog was a one-off supergroup formed in Seattle in 1990 as a tribute to Andrew Wood, the late lead singer of the bands Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. The group consisted of members from two of the biggest grunge bands of the time, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

The band's self-titled album, "Temple of the Dog," was released in 1991 and is a fusion of hard rock, grunge, and classic rock influences. The album features some of the most iconic songs of the era, including "Hunger Strike," "Say Hello 2 Heaven," and "Wooden Jesus."

The album was a critical success and helped to launch the careers of many of the musicians involved. While Temple of the Dog was a one-time project, its legacy lives on as a classic album of the grunge era and a tribute to the Seattle music scene that produced some of the most influential bands of the 1990s.
